When you talk about a match made in heaven, folks can relate and validate our story.  In 2003, at one of those lit motorcycle events that every motorcycle club seemed to have during that time, I saw Compton standing there with no colors (patches) on his vest. When I asked him if he was a prospect, he said, very stoic and short, NO. His friend encouraged us to exchange numbers so he could confirm when his patches were sewn on.  He called, but at the time, I was not interested in a relationship or a new friendship.  Fast forward to March 2004. The tragedy of Compton losing his brother allowed us to reconnect.  My birthday was coming up, so I invited him to join me on a double date with a friend of mine.  We hit it off really well and from there we spent almost every waking hour with each other.  The love of motorcycle riding, shopping and being with each other drew us closer every day.  Compton was and still is the perfect gentleman. Opened doors, taking out the trash, keeping the cars washed and no matter what, he always fed me.  I’m from the old school so I cook, clean and keep my man happy with the fundamental basics of pleasing a companion 😂. It’s been 18+ years and we’ve experienced a lot together.  Spending time with great friends and family, hosting our infamous Happy Hour parties, Compton’s retirement from the Navy, purchasing a new home, a serious motorcycle accident, several surgeries, traveling, family losses, losing our home to a fire, rebuilding from the fire and now we are getting married. This continues to be an extraordinary ride while looking forward to spending the rest of our lives making new memories.
