Our Story
Courtney and Corey first met in the fall of 1991. Even though Spelman and Morehouse Colleges were across the street from each other, they were unlikely to meet. One afternoon, Corey came to visit a friend in McVicar Hall, and it just so happened that Courtney lived in the room across the way. Courtney first caught Corey's eye, and being his charismatic self, Corey introduced himself, flashed his million-dollar smile, and Courtney was hooked.
Courtney graduated the year before Corey, as life would have it, and their lives took different paths. Despite encounters at Fairfield Road and on social media, it would take 20 years and a chance encounter for their paths to cross again.
What started as reunited friends became a relationship built on unconditional love and commitment. Their passion for travel, food, entertainment, and one another's company made them inseparable.
On a getaway to one of their favorite places, Corey took Courtney on a romantic carriage ride around historic Savannah and to a delicious dinner at Garibaldi Cafe. With a room of strangers cheering him on, Corey took a knee and asked Courtney to be his always and forever.
On Monday, July 3rd, at 3:00 pm on a beach in Negril, Jamaica, Courtney and Corey will exchange vows.
