Shawntiana and John, met through Instagram in September 2014. The couple started dating on October 9, 2015. Throughout the years, marriage was discussed and considered, but both had to grow as individuals, then as a couple before making that committment. Once they believed it was time, they spoke about it again. John popped the question on March 1, 2023 at their home. Shawntiana did not want an extravagant proposal and John honored that. He proposed in the presence of the future bride's mother and sister.
Wedding plans were changed from celebrating in New Orleans, LA to Montego Bay, Jamaica. The couple has always dreamed of a destination wedding and they are making that dream come true.
