Ten years ago, Jon and I were both searching for something more in life when we individually decided to enter the single life again and move solo to Biloxi Beach. Cypress Cove was the PERFECT place for a restart! A small beachfront condo community filled with singles and young couples located directly across the street from the beautiful white sands and mesmerizing sunsets of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
We quickly became friends along with others in our community, gathering at our courtyard fountain for after work "happy hour" and indulging in weekend crawfish/shrimp boils on our beachfront lawn. Our neighbors -now friends- often teased us, pushing us to date saying we would make the cutest couple, and then heckling us when we blushed from embarrassment. We weren't ready though, we were just beginning the next chapter of our lives independently. Well...that lasted about a month!
Within the first couple of months of dating, Jon decided he wanted a puppy so we headed over to the humane society and adopted our baby girl, Scooter. We spent the following year living across the fountain from each other, hanging out with our new friends, and having a blast before we decided to look for a place of our own.
A couple of years down the road, Jon volunteered to cat-sit for one of his Marine buddies that had to leave town. This cat was strange -acted like a dog- always begging for affection, following us around, and had a liking towards dog food! When it was time to give Tigger back, I was super sad. A few days later Jon surprised me by bringing Tigger back home ~ permanently!
We have spent the past decade with our fur babies hopping around from house to house, city to city, exploring new places, traveling to see family/friends, laughing hard, playing hard, and working hard on our careers.
Each year our bond has grown deeper, each day our love has grown stronger. We have always remained best friends in love through the best and the hardest of times. We have known for a very long time that we are committed to loving each other for a lifetime; but NOW...we finally get to celebrate it!
