Our Story...

Andrew and Krystal’s journey began back in 1999 when they first met while in the United States Air Force and stationed at Barksdale AFB.

Andrew was assigned to work security at a remote location of the Base.  In order to get there you had to board a bus.  While boarding the bus, all seats were full, except one.

Krystal was sitting next to the window and said “you can sit here.”  Andrew sat down and small talk ensued.  During the conversation, Krystal told Andrew “You have nice cuticles” and grabbed Andrew’s Hand. 

Taken back and totally shocked, Andrew quickly pulled his hands away, laughed and the two departed to their work assignments.

Life went on for the two and over 20 years passed, though they remained military friends.

Andrew had recently moved to Houston TX for work and received a phone call from Krystal.  Krystal was asking about a traffic ticket she received (Andrew was previous Law Enforcement) and Krystal mentioned she was  coming to Houston for a class.

Though Andrew couldn’t get Krystal out of her ticket, they agreed to meet for drinks at Applebees in Houston and catchup on life. 

During the meeting Krystal asked “what happened to you, I haven’t talked to you in years.”  “I always thought of you as a military Brother.”  Andrew explained his happenings and the two laughed about life.

They departed that day and agreed not to be strangers.

Andrew left that meeting and couldn’t get out of his mind their first encounter on the bus while in the Air Force. 

Though, the whole cuticle comment was strange, he felt something very powerful when Krystal grabbed his hand.  It was a feeling that he couldn’t shake for over 20 yrs and felt it stronger than ever when the two met again.

On the drive home, Andrew picked up the phone to dial Krystal, set it down and picked it back up.

Finally growing the courage, he dialed her number and told her “I felt you first that day on the bus and haven’t forgotten about it after all these years.” 

They talked for hours that night and haven’t stopped since.

Andrew proposed to Krystal on March 16th 2023 while on the island of Ile Grande, Brazil. 

They still have the traffic ticket Krystal received when she called Andrew and still enjoy eating at Applebee’s on a date night.
