Where do I go for the ceremony? 

There will be a designated meeting spot that will be shared with you ahead of time where you will meet the wedding staff. The wedding staff will then escort the group to the wedding venue.

What is the dress code for the wedding ceremony?

The dress code is Beach Formal. No white, no jeans. Weather will be hot and reception will take place on the beach.

Are kids welcome?

Unfortunately, as our venue is not suitable for those under the age of 18, this will be an adults-only reception. We hope this will allow you a much-deserved night off to celebrate with us!

Do you have a wedding hashtag?

Yes, our wedding hashtag is #JamaicanMeHightower.

Is there a gift registry? 

Celebrating with you on our wedding day is the greatest gift we could ask for! However for those who expressed interest our registry is located on our webiste.

If you are active duty and/or a military veteran.

For our guests who are either active duty or a veteran, there is an additional discount, which must be mentioned at the time of booking. 

Upon arrival at the resort, proof of military affiliation must be shown. This is achieved by showing either a military ID or DD214 form.

What is the local language and currency?

Everywhere in Jamaica, and on the Sandals resort, accepts the US currency. Any major credit cards are accepted on the resort ONLY and off the resort excursions/purchases will require cash. 

For your convenience, the Sandals Resort does have an ATM in the lobby, if needed.

English is the primary language. 

What are cultural traditions and etiquette such as dressing code?

Your normal style and clothing is appropriate for Jamaica. Our wedding will be hosted during summer, so you can expect it to be hot. Pack light and comfortable clothing.

Customs such as tipping or gratuities are included in the resort booking prices. The only time tipping is appropriate is if your room comes with a butler. Tipping for the excursion drivers is optional and a personal preference.
