Our Story

It was the fall of 2019 when Gary (Melissa's Landlord) mentioned to her that his son Aron had a single
friend that he felt would be a great match for her. He raved about Nolan's many desirable traits and
successes thus far, such as being a New York State Trooper. Gary believed that Melissa's outgoing and fun lifestyle was just what Nolan needed. Little did Melissa know that she needed Nolan's structured nature to make her life more well balanced. At this time, Melissa had just started seeing someone else, so she declined Gary's offer to meet Nolan.
In February 2020, Melissa attended a beer event at the Saratoga City Center with her friends. The event
sells out every year, so the event space was crowded with people drinking and having a good time.
Melissa lost her friends at one point and was all alone, when she heard someone call "Melissa!" She turned around to find Aron (Gary's son) who started small chit chat only to then introduce Melissa to Nolan. Aron said, "This is Nolan, the guy you were supposed to go on a date with and didn't." Quick greetings were exchanged and then Melissa ran off to find her friends. Now after meeting each other, Nolan was even more bummed that she was dating someone else. Secretly, Melissa was thrown off on how cute Nolan was and she wondered if she missed out on a good opportunity.
Fast forward to June 2020, Melissa broke up with the guy she was seeing shortly after meeting Nolan at
the beer event. Everyones worlds completely turned upside down from the pandemic. Loneliness was at a high, especially for Melissa, who was living alone and only had her pet fish Jack to keep her company -- while Nolan was living with his best friend and his best friend's girlfriend. Both Melissa and Nolan realized it was time to get back on the dating scene, which at the time was online dating. After many failed zoom dates for Melissa, she noticed she had a "like" on one of her photos. It was Nolan! Melissa was filled with excitement, because finally she could get to know the man her Landlord spoke so highly of. Nolan on the other hand, did not realize the Melissa in the photo he liked was in fact the same Melissa he had met at the beer event that his friend Aron was telling him he should date. Luckily, Melissa messaged Nolan first to say, "Hey, you are the one my Landlord was telling me about!" A couple weeks later, Nolan took Melissa on their first date to Solevo, followed by a night cap beverage at Henry Street Tap Room.
Melissa and Nolan were both surprised on how comfortable and natural the date felt, and figured they would give this relationship a try!
A year later, they got a house and an adorable German Shepherd named Whiskey. Nolan then surprised Melissa with an engagement proposal at her 30th birthday party, which I believe you all know what her answer was because here they are, a year and a half later, ready to tie the knot!
The future McMahons are so excited to celebrate this new chapter of their lives with family and friends in
Jamaica.
