It's a looong story, but here's a not-so-quick summary:

It all started when a common acquaintance invited us to go ice skating with him at the Cosmopolitan. No, we were not set up on a blind date - apparently, aforementioned acquaintance had the thing for Nikole and wanted to set Leigh up with another friend. We were both not looking for someone to date as we both just got out of relationships, but the acquaintance knew he had no shot with Nikole (she told him this) and wanted to still try by setting up a fun group activity to "make friends". Ice skating is not in both Nikole and Leigh's lists of special talents, however, we both independently agreed it was fun - Leigh stuck by the entire night and the conversations made were effortless. It was a wild night, and we wanted to have a "redo" - just the two of us.

Nikole isn't a fan of cocktails and Leigh says he can change her mind because "not all cocktails are sweet." Uber wanted Nikole to be late and so, we had to change venues and find a place that was still open after 10pm. It's Vegas, it shouldn't be THAT HARD. The only venue nearby was the Downtown Cocktail Room. Leigh had not expected it to be a very intimate setting, and Nikole enters in casual clothes with a friendly, "nice to see you again" demeanor. AGAIN, AMAZING CONVERSATIONS - good cocktails, too. Mind you, this was not a date in Nikole's head so she wanted to pay for it and make that clear. As a gentleman, Leigh did not allow it and so it was our first date.

The story keeps going on and more things align. Through everything, Leigh is the one main thing that keeps Nikole sane and he does not even realize it. We tell each other everything - good or bad, we get on each other's nerves - but learn to listen to each other while expressing ourselves. We decide in 2022 that we will be marrying each other. Unfortunately, Lloyd, Leigh's father and best friend, will have to be with us in spirit only, but that's better than nothing.

Leigh and Nikole move forward together, and then move in together. We get big baby, Romeo (who was not planned at all by us, just God), put him at the back of our wedding invites, and have sent them to you, to be part of the beginning of our story as Mr. and Mrs.
