FAQs

When do I need to be there?

Our wedding is August 11, 2023 at 3:00pm at Sandals Royal Barbados. All guests will need to arrive on the island by August 10, 2023 to attend the wedding.

Do I need a passport to travel to Barbados?

Yes, a valid U.S. passport is required for all travelers coming from the United States. Also, your passport MUST have NO fewer than 6 months left on it to enter the country of Barbados. For example, if your flight returning to the U.S. leaves on August 13, your passport can not expire before February 13, 2024.

How do I get to Barbados?

Flights to Bridgetown Airport are available on JetBlue and American Airlines, with direct flights from JFK and Miami and connecting from other cities.

How long do I stay?

Sandals requires a 3 night minimum stay for our wedding guests. Suggested dates are August 10-13th to accomodate the 3 night minimum. Of course, you can always arrive a day earlier or stay an extra day. It is YOUR vacation! Any reservations should be booked through our personal booking agent, Shawna-Kay using our wedding room code # WG23161929. This will ensure you are included on our wedding guest list. Email Shawna-Kay at ssteele@uvltd.com and reference the room code to begin your trip planning.

Can I book air and hotel together?

Yes, our booking agent will book all your travel arrangements. There are discounts available when booking a hotel and air package through our Sandals booking agent.

Is there transporation to the hotel from the airport?

Yes, Sandals offers a shuttle to the resort from the Bridgetown airport. Please confirm with our personal agent at time of hotel booking.

What do I wear to the wedding?

Typical wedding attire. But we are on a tropical island, so colorful dresses or dress shirts are encouraged!

What is the weather like on the island of Barbados in August?

Temperatures range from a high of 88 degrees to a low of 76. There is always a chance of rain but rain showers are quickly driven off by the constant tradewinds.

Are there any cultural differences I should be aware of in Barbados?

Keep your camoflauge outfits at home! Interestingly, camouflage and other military inspired clothing are only allowed to be worn by the Barbados Military on the island. Also, swimsuits and beach cover-ups are, of course, okay on the resort, but the locals aren't so happy to see you walking around downtown in your speedo!
