Christa initally ignored Lawson on Hinge (dating app) for 1-2 weeks before having a bad enough week in the surgical ICU that she finally reached out about grabbing a drink after work. After a rough first impression (sorry Lawson!) at Southside near Lawson's old apartment, the two became inseperable. When Lawson met Christa's zoo, her oldest dog, Emi, decided that Lawson wasn't going anywhere and the rest was history. The Eussen-Hahn zoo has since expanded by 2 more Japanese Chin bringing the tally up to 5 dogs and 2 cats.
