|   |  | On the beautiful island of Antigua, July 30, 2017, surrounded by an intimate gathering of friends and family, Jabari asked me to be his wife... and of course I said YES!!!В
Antigua was just a stop over to Monserrat where we were headed for my family reunion. We decided to stay a short time in Antigua to tour the island since it was Jabari's first time visiting Antigua. But to my surprise Jabari and my mom (Maudline Blake) had a plan of their own.В
After the tour, we headed back to the hotel to get dressed for dinner. Being in the hot sun for most of the day caused me to get a headache and I didn't feel like doing much, I just wanted to lay down. My dear cousin Nadia Blake insisted that I get dressed and join the family for dinner since it was our last night in Antigua.В
Once I was dressed, В I headed to the lobby to meet family and friends for dinner. Jabari thought that it would be a great idea if we all took pictures by the pier, but the rain had other plans. Instead we took shelter under the bar gazebo and waited for the rain to stop.
At this point, my head was pounding and I was over the whole ordeal. By now the rain has stopped so we proceeded to take pictures with the family before dinner.В
After several poses with family, Jabari gave the camera to my Unlce Richie and asked him to get a few shots of us. We posed for the pictures and once we were finished, Jabari held my hand and started talking... at this point I realized that everyone started to suround us and right before my eyes... my handsome knight got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife; with excitement and joy, I said YES!!!В
I may not have been feeling my best but I am happy that I was able to push through for this moment. Jabari knows how much I love the ocean and the island scenery and he made it a point to capture this special moment in paradise.В |
