Have you ever flown with a diamond? Well I assure you it’s not as easy as it sounds. The night before our flight to Puerto Rico I had hidden the ring inside a pair of socks in my CARRY-ON luggage. The first hurdle was to get through TSA security without having them rummage through my bag and ruin the entire proposal.  I got lucky and made it through without any inspection but after completing our first two layovers and boarding the final plane to Puerto Rico, the flight attendant told me that I would not be able to take my CARRY-ON bag onboard and they would make sure it gets under the plane. As you could imagine, I was beside myself but reluctantly handed over my bag like I was handing over my soul!  I was terrified as I boarded that plane – more nervous than I have ever been.  I now know how it would feel like to be Smeagol (Lord of the Rings). After landing in San Juan, I anxiously awaited a glimpse of my bag and after what felt like an eternity, it finally appeared and I snatched it off the carousel. Whew…what a trip! The next morning we woke up in San Juan, Puerto Rico, took a taxi to our cruise ship and boarded Royal Caribbean's Jewel of the Seas excited to start our amazing adventure in the Southern Caribbean. After a few hours of drinks by the pool, I mentioned to Faline that I had scheduled her a massage and dinner as a gift for our anniversary. While Faline was enjoying her massage, I met with the cruise ship director and had them put together a proposal at Schooners Piano Bar. My requests were to have the pianist perform our song "Fix You" by Coldplay while three crew members each brought her a rose with a note attached. Then the time came – the time that I was finally able to get down on one knee and propose to the girl of my dreams – and place that ring on her finger!

After getting out of my very relaxing massage, we headed back to our suite to get ready for our candlelit dinner. Jake had told me to put on something nice and do my hair for our anniversary. After getting ourselves ready for dinner we made our way to the restaurant, sat down then Jake ordered us a bottle of wine to celebrate. Immediately after dinner we made our way to Schooners Piano Bar and sat down in front of the piano. Not long after we sat down Jake stood up and told me he was going to get us a couple drinks and that he would be back in a few minutes. Not even ten seconds later to my surprise a lady crew member whom I've never seen before gave me a rose and a note which read: "We've been through so much over the years, first as friends, and now so much more. You are my best friend and companion." After reading the first note another crew member gave me a rose and another note which read: "I love you not only for what you are, but what I am when I'm with you." At this point reality is setting in and I'm realizing what is happening. Now a third crew member approaches with yet another rose and note, this note read: "You're my rock when times get tough, and are simply irreplaceable in every way." Jake then walked up to me and got down on one knee in front of the entire Bar, I was already in tears before he could even ask me to marry him. He told me these words: "Everything I've ever wanted in a girl, is exactly what I see when I look at you. You are the smartest, sexiest, sweetest person I know and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Faline Jylha will you marry me?" Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever imagined something out of a fairy tale actually happening to me, I guess dreams really can come true.
