 | Steve completely surprised me and proposed on July 21st in Lake George, NY. After having dinner with my parents, we decided to head up to Lake George for a horse & buggy ride around the town because Steve told me this was on his bucket list of things to do (which I found out later was a lie and just a ploy). Once we got there, we discovered it would be an hour wait, which I really did not want to wait for. However, Steve convinced me to grab a drink while we waited at a nearby restaurant. Unbeknownst to me, Steve was trying to hide the ring in his pocket the entire time, purposefully facing the pocket which was holding the ring on the opposite side of me. Once we got on the horse & buggy, I decided I would give him a tour of Lake George, pointing out various memories and landmarks which were important to me during my childhood/upbringing. A few minutes into the ride, Steve says "You know how much I love you...", which I quickly say, "yup, but the mini-golf was over here and the bumper boats were over there...". I had absolutely no idea he was trying to propose and just wanted to continue giving him the tour! He then continued talking and eventually got down on one knee, all while in the buggy! Soon after we got off the buggy, there just happened to be fireworks over the lake which we sat in the grass and watched. An absolute perfect engagement! |
