FAQs
1. Can we stay at other resorts? Yes you can, but there is a $300 fee to get on the resort for the wedding per person
2. Is the resort all inclusive? Yes, bascailly everything is included! Food, alcohol, etc. The main thing not included is spa services.
3. Are there any on site activities/excursions included? Yes, there is a bowling alley, 21 restaurants, bars, pools, free water sports (scuba diving, kayaking, snorkeling, paddle boarding, windsurfing), nightly entertainment, piano bar, beach volleyball, gym, and spa.
4. Do we have to stay on the Royal side? No, the Sandals Barbados or Sandals Royal Barbados resort is fine, they are basically connected.
5. What should we wear? Wear anything you feel comfortable in. Whether you rather be dressier or more dressed down, whatever you prefer. Bride and groom will be in tuxedo and wedding dress.
6. How should we book flights? You can book through Sandals or separately, whichever you like. The main airlines that fly to Barbados are United, Jet Blue, and American airlines. You cannot book flights until 11 months in advance.
7. How will we get from the airport to the resort? Our wedding planner, Wunmi, can handle the ground transportation to the resort for you. Email is wadediji@destinationweddings.com
8. What wedding events will there be? We will have a rehearsal dinner for everyone, wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception.
9. Where will the wedding events take place? All events will be outdoors- The ceremony will be on the rooftop on the Royal side and the cocktail hour and reception will take place on the beach.
10. How many days should we stay? Stay as long or as short as you like. Make a vacation out of it or just come for a few days. We do ask that you get there at least a day before the wedding, May 16, 2025. We will be arriving May 15, 2025.
11. What is the weather like in Barbados in May? The average high and low temp. is 87/77 degrees farenheit and sunny.
12. Do we do our own hair and makeup? There is a spa on site that you can book to have hair and makeup done if you would like, but it is not a requirement by any means.
13. Do we have to tip waiters/workers? They do not accept tips.
14. What restaurants require reservations? The only 2 restaurants that require reservations are Butch's and Kimonos. Every other restaurant on property does not require reservations.
15. How do we book excursions? You can book excursions before or after arrival, but it is recommended to do it before. It is easier to book if you download the Sandals app.
16. Should we bring a gift? It is a huge gift that you will travel all the way to Barbados for us- please do not feel the need to bring any gifts.
17. Do we need a passport? Yes.
18. Do we have to have the full trip paid for to book? No, the full payment will not be due until March 2025. The initial price to book your room is $98.
19. Is the wedding open bar? Yes, spirits, beer, and wine are included.
20. When should I book by? It is best to book ASAP to make sure you get the room you want, but whenever you can is fine.
21. How much will it cost? That all depends on duration of stay, type of room, flights selected, etc.
22. How should I book a room? You can book on the Sandals website on your own, but we would prefer if you book with our wedding planner Wunmi, just to keep everything organized. If you pick a room on the website, you can send her the name of the room and the dates you choose to come and she can book it for you. Her email is wadediji@destinationweddings.com
