My beloved is mine, and I am his.....Song of Solomon 2:16

Donnie and I met through a mutual friend(Thank you Nikki!).  Donnie was coming to Orlando on a business trip and we decided to meet for lunch at Brio's Tuscan Grill at The Mall of Millenia. ( Brio's is one of Donnie's favorite restaurants). I was patiently waiting for him to arrive.  I was somewhat nervous because I didn't know what to expect. We took the time to get to know each other.  We truly enjoyed each other's company.  Once lunch was over I mentioned that I was going to head into the mall to do some shopping.  Donnie asked if he could join me. I know most men don't like to shop but I was happy he decided to come along with me. It gave us the opportunity to talk more and also learn about each others fashion style as we browsed through different stores.

As our date was coming to an end, Donnie walked me out to my vehicle and we chatted some more but as we were standing there talking and gazing into each other eyes I felt he wanted to kiss me and I wanted to kiss him but we ended up hugging each other.( but I know he didn't want me to go)We knew this would be a start to something great.

Our journey has been filled with lots of laughter and fun even though we are in two different states. Over the past 3 years, we've pushed each other to be the best, challenged each other and learned to love through it all. One thing we do know is that God was at work behind the scenes to bring us together.

Love is an awesome experience! It defies all logic, space, distance and time. Even greater than love is God, for he is a way maker and turn seemingly impossible situations, into possible realities.

It was a warm and sunny day...

I received an email from a mutual friend and colleague, Nikki, introducing me to LaTonya (LT).  In the email she mentioned that LaTonya and her girlfriends would be in Charlotte for CIAA weekend and if she needed anything for me to look out for them and maybe show them around.  Nikki ended the email saying "I've done my part, so the rest is up to you two".  I didn't think much of the end of the email until later.  LT and I exchanged a few emails and phone calls talking about their plans for CIAA.  I told her to call me if she wanted to hang out or get lost or anything.  CIAA came and we played phone tag and when we finally spoke, she was in the lobby of The Westin with her girls having a ball.  I wasn't doing anything that night but wasn't about to put myself in that situation to be judged by 6, that could have been brutal.  So I told her to have fun and travel safe and maybe we could connect some other time.  As weeks passed we reached out and of course, she trolled my facebook page to see what I was about.  #ThugLife...Yeah Right!  We became FB friend's.

I had made plans to go down to Orlando early for The MEAC/SWAC Challenge in September because I wanted to see the Kennedy Space Center.  I reached out to LT to see if she wanted to have lunch with me that Saturday.  She said yes and I told her that I would follow up with her to set the time.  Well I got a little busy and time slipped away but I still had in the back of my mind that LT and I would meet for lunch, but it's been 3 weeks and I hadn't spoken to her since and I'm flying to Orlando in a few hours.  I reached out to LT and asked if she still wanted to meet for lunch. She waited about 2 hours to respond as if to say, this dude is krazy asking me at the last minute if we are still on for lunch and I haven't spoken to him in 3 weeks.  She said yes and I chose Brio's Tuscan Grill to meet because it's one of my favorite spots.  She said that she wasn't doing anything that day but lying on the couch and if she had plans, I would have been out of luck.  Luckily I was the hero that day saving her from the couch and reruns, HAHA just kiddin'.  I arrived at Orlando and got lost, went to the wrong Brio but eventually found the right one...I'm glad that she was waiting patiently because she could have just left (we won't say how late I was).  When I walked in and saw her, I was like WOW, she was the most beautiful woman I had seen in a long time.  We greeted and I appologized for being late and we sat down to eat.  We talked and talked and enjoyed each other's company, she had the lobster bisque.  A random woman came by to tell LT how beautiful she was.  We laughed and finished talking about any and everything.  LaTonya had gotten up to go to the restroom and I immediatley texted Nikki sayin' "LT is FINE, good lookin' out!"  She replied back LOL and wished us both good luck.

We finished lunch and LT said that she was going to walk around the mall to look in a few stores.  I'm not a shopper, but I was not about to let her get away so I asked if I could tag along.  She said yes and we finished talking while browsing.  The night had come to an end and she said that she was going to head home.  I was hoping that we had a few more hours to spend together.  We hugged and said good night (I think she saw me looking at her lips haha).  We ended the night saying that we would hook up later in the week when I finished working.  I tried to see LT every night for dinner or an appetizer.  We had fun then, still having fun now and are planning to continue living and having fun!!  God Did That For Us!! #Blessed.

We are good for each other, not perfect, but perfect for each other.

So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.John 4:16
