Mike proposed to McKenzie over the town of Marion in a hot-air balloon. McKenzie has always dreamed of a proposal high in a hot-air balloon and Mike made that happen. He told McKenzie they were going out to eat at a new restaurant one Friday night and he wanted to keep it a surprise. As he blind-folded McKenzie, she thought it was a little suspicious to make such a big deal over a new restaurant, but she played along!

When they pulled into the lot where they were supposed to take off from, Mike had to get out of the car to "check the reservation" while he left McKenzie in the car. She waited patiently for about 20 minutes, only to hear Mike return and tell her that they lost the reservation and they had to go somewhere else. They were both a little frustrated at this point, but Mike promised the next place wasn't too far away and it was going to be just as nice.

Mike parked the car at the second location and told McKenzie she could take the blind-fold off. There, up on the hill, was the basket for the hot-air balloon. It was an awesome experience to see the balloon being assembled and how it quickly lifts off the ground! It was the perfect evening with low wind speed and refreshing summer air. June 6, 2014 will always be a memorable day for Mike and McKenzie!
